Episode 18- With Murray Cod season just around the corner, who better to talk to than one of Australia's pioneers of chasing wild Murray Cod on fly, Nick Kniepp. Nick has for the most part, dedicated his flyfishing time to Australia's most iconic and largest freshwater fish, the Murray Cod. Nick's contribution to the sport is extensive, and it was a pleasure to chat to such a top bloke who is willing to share so much with anyone who is passionate to learn.
Also in this show, we chat about getting the most out off your fly rod when fighting large fish by discussing correct rod angles and at the end of the show, we go into solving Australia's Feral problems like a trio of idiots.

So xxvdy8 what is the answer... electro fishing and commercializing the product hasn’t worked in the last 25 years or so and the other fish down operation (Tasmania) has taken 20 years and they are still not gone from two comparatively small systems...

The problem we have is there are people in the planning of Carp control program don't have the knowledge and expertise to make a rational decision ..The Government want a result and bang for thier buck They have thrown 200 million at it already and we are no closer to solving the issue ..They need to find a better solution maybe be way of electrofishing and farming the carp off to make fertiliser. I agree with Andy on Tilapia ...they are far more a problem than carp ..they Can't handle cold ...maybe this is a way to fix it ???

Hi guys Carp virus is a volatile subject .The conditions and water temp has to be perfect ..There is the massive chance there will be a Blackwater effect it kills everything ..all the microbiorganisms plants ..The water quality will take along time to recover ...The kill rate of the virus is only 70% ..Trying to control it is near impossible ...
