Brandon's outfit is the only place in the world that you can get consistent shots at Trachinotus Africanus which is for many the most difficult Permit to acquire when chasing all four species of Permit. On this show we get to know a little about the destination of Oman and what lead Brandon and Clair into starting what is arguably one of the most unique saltwater Fly-fishing destinations in the world.

Episode 118 - On this show we talk to Captain Kurt Rowlands of Hervey Bay Fly and Sportsfishing. Kurt is a young guide working in the pristine waters of Hervey Bay which is well known for its incredible pelagic action and famously for the great run of juvenile Black Marlin they have each year. Kurt is a local to the Cooloolah coast having grown up in North Noosa (Gympie) where he cut his teeth as a river rat fishing the Mary River. Kurt is at the start of what will no doubt be a long career as a Flyfishing guide.

Episode 117 - Return of The Voltz

On episode 117- We experience the full gamut of emotions as we see the return of Voltron the powerful back to the hot seat.  We quickly recap on the last 2 recent shows then get into learning about the fascination annual migration north that Voltz and his companion Kyle undertake. Unlike the great Wildebeest migrations of the Serengeti , there is no risk of predators on this sojourn, with this pair, they are the hunters and they definitely slayed. We break down this trip by entering the mind of the seasoned annual traveller and learn what it takes to alpha someone into driving the whole way while you sleep. The boys had some great fishing, its a good story and it was good to have Voltz back, we hope you enjoy the show.

Episode 115 - While you were sleeping

On Episode 115, we try something very different and unusual.  On a mission to supply a customer with a packet of hooks, Chris drives over an hour to fish with a person he has never met in a river he has never fished  for a species he has barely targeted, it was during this unusual situation that he decided to record the experience for you guys, the valued listener.  On previous podcasts, you hear us talk about the grind and the trials of fly fishing in most situations, now couple that with recording, a new river system, meeting someone new and a plan to fish until the sun comes up... what could go wrong.

On Episode 115, we go way deep into the psyche of successful angling, somewhat by accident seeing the original concept of the show was meant to be and still sort of is breaking down common fishing cliché's. If you are in a slump, or just trying to figure out what makes a successful angler both on and off the water, then this podcast might be a good show to tie a few flies too, or stare broodingly into the distance whilst aggressively destroying a few VB longnecks and just pondering if these idiots make sense. Who knows, you may not agree with us, but it may tweak a eureka moment that might expand your approach to fishing for greater success.

Angus has a contagious personality and a great attitude to life and fishing around his local haunts and many travels. On this show we learn about Angus's love of short term adventure and the sum of experiences that has led him to a full time guide lifestyle.
